Work Party at Ravenna Woods Park: Come RAIN or SHINE!!
All are welcome to come and help restore wildlife habitat at Ravenna Woods Park. The park is located near University Village, approximately 1/2 mile south of Ravenna Park. Studetns can earn service learning and/or community service hours.
When: Saturday June 7, 2008 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM
Where: Ravenna Woods Park (not Ravenna Park)
4701 Ravenna Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98105
Bring: GLOVES, rain gear, and a lunch. There will be mud so wear studry WATERPROOF BOOTS.
Tasks: Weeding and spreading mulch.
Note: Parking is extremely limited. Please park before the end of the pavement and walk in. Carpooling is encouraged.

Directions from either northbound or southbound 25th Ave. NE, near University Village: turn west onto NE Blakely St. (stoplight by the Burke-Gilman Trail crossing and the 7-11 store), then take the first immediate left (this is actually the continuation of NE Blakely St.). Continue on NE Blakely St. to NE 51st St. Turn right (west) onto NE 51st St. and continue to Ravenna Ave. NE. Turn left (south) onto Ravenna Ave. NE.
Ravenna Ave. NE turns into a dirt/gravel road approximately 2 blocks south of NE 51st St. Park on the asphalt road and walk to the Park, since there is no parking on the dirt/gravel section of the road. Ravenna Woods is the forested open space on the west side of the road, located immediately south of the house at 4701 Ravenna Avenue NE. If anyone would like to use Mapquest, Ravenna Woods is located south of 4701 Ravenna Avenue NE. Seattle 98105.
Meeting Area: Just walk south on Ravenna Avenue NE past the house at 4701 Ravenna Avenue NE until you see people working. I will have probably be wearing a bright orange vest (under my rain jacket). There will be a table set up with sign-in sheets. If it is raining, the sign in desk will be located under the carport at 4701 Ravenna Avenue NE. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN IN!!!! Documenting the number of volunteer hours is critical for us to qualify for matching grants for plants, etc.
