GSP Volunteer Recruitment, Management, and Retention
A special training for volunteers from the master volunteer manager: Chris LaPointe from EarthCorps.
Join GSP Forest Stewards on Saturday, November 21, 2009 for a training session by Chris LaPointe, Volunteer Program Manager, EarthCorps. Training will be held at Carkeek Park Environmental Learning Center from 10am-2pm.
Through this training you will learn about logistics and systems associated with volunteer recruitment, management and retention. You will learn how to plan and lead successful volunteer events. This training will also teach you how to successfully connect with and include local schools with your forest restoration efforts. Other topics covered in the training include a brief discussion on the importance of volunteerism & service, systems EarthCorps has developed to manage successful volunteer events, volunteer event logistics (pre event logistics, day of event logistics, post event logistics) and volunteer retention. The training will conclude with instructors leading a mock volunteer event. This will offer participants a first hand look at how successful volunteer event management and systems work.
